HOME IN VICENZA
In 2024 I began a major remodelling and refurbishing project in Vicenza, Italy which was completed that same year.
The original building was constructed in the 1700’s and transformed into a series of apartments in the early 1900’s.
The spaces in this apartment were sealed off from each other by a series of non-structural walls and several doors, 8 in total.
Air and sight circulation were almost non-existent in this 62 sqm apartment.
My approach to interior design aims to form a place where air, light, sight, humans, and furniture all circulate freely, flowing effortlessly.
The intent for this project was to create a series of interconnected spaces based on organic and fluid design.
Organic architecture is a design philosophy which aims to create a balance between human structures and the natural world.
Now, curved walls, open partitions, built-in furniture, peepholes and layered spaces facilitate strong visual lines. Air and eye can move freely through the space, connecting interior areas to each other and to the outdoor.
These soft forms and harmonious spaces promote comfort, connection, and well-being.
The interior breathes and flows as a living, harmonious ecosystem.
Design isn’t just about forms and materials, it’s about how everything moves and interacts naturally.
